Shop Patrick O'Donnell's house with 44 pieces to buy now

Farrow & Ball's colour consultant Patrick O'Donnell opens up his sourcebook

AS a brand ambassador for Farrow & Ball, Patrick O'Donnell is (unsurprisingly) rather good with colours, and he's also a collector of beautiful things, from antique furniture to handmade pottery. His house in Worcestershire is filled with warm, rich hues, and decorated with a huge variety of pictures, textiles and objects that we'd love to emulate. It helps that his partner Paul Bailie makes heavenly hand-embroidered textiles, and his cushions are dotted around the house. We've gone through and picked out some of our favourite shoppable pieces so you can take a touch of Patrick's style home with you.

In the kitchen

Patrick created this dining nook by painting both walls and woodwork in Farrow & Ball's ‘Biscuit’, one of the warm, yellow/brown hues he favours, and has added in further warm colours in the block-printed tablecloth and the upholstery of the chairs.

In Patrick's mother's sitting room, the fresh backdrop of ‘Templeton Pink’ makes a beautiful setting for traditional chintzes, paintings of landscapes and flowers, and one of Paul's embroidered cushions.

In the study

Chris Horwood

Patrick's study is a lesson in layering, with its deep green walls and rich red tones. Contemporary accessories, like Gavin Houghton's hand painted plates and Alice Palmer's cheerful striped lampshades, balance the more traditional pieces of furniture.

In the dining room

In the dining room, Patrick has used tones of green and red once again, but to completely different effect. Here, a discontinued Colefax wallpaper lines the walls, and playful accessories bring a youthful spirit to the room. On the wall, Patrick has created his own intaglio case from an IKEA tray and Farrow & Ball ‘Pea Green Dead Flat.’
