Welcome to the IRC

Welcome.

Welcome to the Integral Research Center (IRC) in general and the IRC blog in particular. This blog will be used for a number of purposes. The Integral Research Center was formed in 2006 when John F. Kennedy University and Integral Institute partnered to create the online graduate program in Integral Theory. The website was first launched in 2008 in conjunction with the first biennial Integral Theory Conference. This site served as a placeholder until we could upgrade it to what you see now. We are quite thrilled with this new site as it finally achieves the look and feel that we have always envisioned for the site.  If you are new to the site be sure to check out the many resources we have gathered to support you in your own integral research efforts. We are always in the process of updating and adding to what is available here so please feel free to send us suggestions, references, or examples of your own integral research.

This blog will showcase a number of kinds of posts including field reports, reflections on issues in integral research, and research updates. Field reports will come from individuals like Gail Hochachka and her work in Africa and South America where she uses integral research to guide her own community development work. They will also come from recipients of our Integral Research Grants as they go about engaging in their projects on the ground. This will allow them to share with the larger IR community how their research is going, what issues are they struggling with or exploring and so fourth. Reflections on issues in integral research will be provided by the staff here at the IRC as well as associates who want to raise and present their thoughts on some of the contemporary issues facing the field of integral research. Research updates on the various projects presented on the ACTION page will provide the community with useful windows into the status of these exciting projects.

My aim is to showcase 1-2 blog posts each month. So this won’t be as active as some blogs but it will provide an ongoing source of interesting material on what is happening in the realm of integral research. Over time a dynamic and textured collection of posts will emerge and serve the many commitments of the IRC. If you would like to provide a post don’t hesitate to contact us and let us know what you have in mind.

Thanks for contributing to the exploration of integral research,

Sean
